Complete Lifestyle Photography bio picture

A brief history...

Thank you for taking the time to come and look at my work.  This is my passion, its all I have ever known.  Most text books will tell you that a bio should be written in the 3rd person, thats just not me.  I am personable, I am interested in you and I want you to be interested in me.  Writing about my life in the 3rd person just doesn't seem to make sense if we want to be friends.  I graduated from Fitchburg State College in 2001 with a degree in communications media.  I'd like to say I never use what I learned in school, but it just wouldn't be true.

I received a very classical technical education in photography, I learned about FILM.  I have translated that knowledge across the digital divide and now throughly enjoy the new media that is digital photography.  But frankly I care less about pixels and more about people.  I try to tell a story with each assignment, with each image.  Thats the beauty of a photograph, its just a moment that would have passed by so quickly that you might not have even seen it... but now you can look at it and remember those feelings anytime you wish.

That is my mission, to make those fleeting moments stand for all eternity.  To share with future generations.  I can't wait to meet and talk about your event weather its a wedding, bar/bat mitzvah or a family portrait...

Senior magic…

I haven’t had the opportunity to post anything in a while, its been a little hectic.  I did this shoot two weekends ago on a Sunday that started out pretty dreary and miserable.  We spoke around noon time and decided to risk the weather, hoping the local forecast was correct.  By the time we met in Concord center it was warm, sunny and just a gorgeous afternoon.

As with all of my portrait clients we had several discussions about locations, wardrobe, makeup, jewelry, shoes etc… we started out with the semi formal clothing in Concord center, and planned to move to some more casual stuff in a wooded area I found on my scouting trip.

This young lady was amazing, not only bright and energetic, she didn’t even blink an eye when I suggested climbing a tree…

After this location we moved off to the Old North Bridge.  Not so much for the bridge itself, but for the beautiful fields and natural landscape that surrounds it.

The last stop on our shoot is a secret…  Why you ask?  Well we weren’t exactly supposed to be there.  It was a 15 min hike into the woods to find the perfect spot, and when we did look what happened…

Yep that’s a rainbow.  I know where this spot is, and would happily shoot there again, but cannot promise mother nature will provide such a landscape.

Senior Spunk…

This is another senior portrait that came together in the span of 3 days.  They had goofed up the deadline dates for the picture, and well we made this happen quick!  When we had our pre-consult phone call the desire to have a simple grey backdrop was sort of the theme.  It was the girl’s choice not moms surprisingly.  So I brought my grey backdrop and set it up in their driveway ;)

My style is well at little more “lifestyle” I want these senior portraits to be about documenting this time in their life, sadly they can’t say 18 forever.  After we finished up with the grey we went off to the high school.  We had so many more fun things to play with, things that were much more relevant to who she is now.

This particular subject has a love of lacrosse and martial arts.  So we found the lacrosse goal and had some fun.

This next image is the one she ultimately chose to go in the year book… after all that it was an environmental shot, not a studio type shot :)   And its an excellent shot if I do say so myself!

After we wrapped up the lacrosse goal area we went over to the bleachers.  The grauaing class is allowed to paint their year onto the bleachers each summer.  Well needless to say my graduating year only had 2 numbers not four.  We had a lot of fun, I hope you enjoy!

Senior portrait

Last weekend, as part of a marathon of shooting (blog posts coming very slowly) I had the opportunity to do a senior portrait for a Dracut HS Senior.

We spent about 2h in varous parts of Manchester NH, downtown doing some great street scenes and then to Wagner park, AKA “Pretty Park.” I didn’t want to stop, but alas all good things come to an end at some point…
